One last great thing about lettuce is that it is low in calories and prevents you and your dog from getting overweight! An overweight dog usually has health problems like diabetes. If you love your dog you do not want him to become fat and unhealthy!

Lettuce Doggy Treat Salad Recipe:
You will need:
- Clean spinach
- Clean lettuce
- Cheese (do make sure your dog is not allergic to cheese or is lactose intolerant)
- Dog treats (any kind is fine)
Method:
Cut up all the ingredients except the dog treats. You can grate the cheese if you want to but cutting it up into small, bite-sized pieces is fine. Mix together in a bowl. Add the dog treats and mix well.
You are now ready to serve your dog with his own salad! But you do not have to stick to only one type of dog treat. You can mix different types together if you want to, or try adding some leftover meat or even bacon! This salad will keep in the refrigerator for a few days.
Just a tip, though. Do not make too much of this dog treat salad as you should not give him too much at a time. Too much lettuce, as mentioned before, can cause an upset tummy and cramps. A little at a time is fine. The dog treats in the doggy treat salad also contain a lot of calories. You do not want him getting overweight and unhealthy.
